This absolute shaikh (now king) of Bahrain relied on thousands of imported foreign mercenaries to crush the uprising of the people. They failed and he had to accept a Saudi invasion to crush the uprising, The uprising is still going on. Now he is advising the absolute shaikh of Syria on how to react to protests.
Now if the Syrian dictator would listen to the Bahrain despot, he would invite Saudi forces into Damascus to try and crush the protests. That is what happened in Bahrain.
