Map of Hormuz: Gulf of CENTCOM………….

Here is an interesting clear map of the Strait of Hormuz, where the Gulf meets the Gulf of Oman and the strategic islands straddling it. They mis-name it the “Persian Gulf” here, following ancient history and past United Nations resolutions. The true name should be the “Persian-American Gulf”, reflecting both history and the reality on the ground, er, at sea. Or some American military types might prefer to call it the "Gulf of CENTCOM". Of course all this is no guarantee that once the potentates of Abu Dhabi get hold of this map, they will not redraw it, change the name, again, to “Gulf of al-Nahayan”. They tend to be serial map-changers.
