Arabian Peninsula: Two Princes, Vanishing Fear, the Once Freest People on Earth………
Rattlesnake Ridge

Couldn't the schmuck just text me?
“Chairman of Kingdom Holding Company (KHC) Prince Alwaleed bin Talal, received in his Riyadh office Bahraini Ambassador Sheikh Humoud bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Khalifa. The ambassador handed Prince Alwaleed with a letter from Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa. During the meeting the pair discussed bilateral relations. They also touched upon latest developments around the world. In December, Prince Alwaleed congratulated King Hamad, the government and the people of Bahrain for the national team’s gold medal victory in the 12th football championship at the Arab Games in Doha. To mark the occasion, Prince Alwaleed presented $10,000 as a gift to each team member and stressed the importance of supporting sports and athletes in the GCC countries. Prince Alwaleed visited Bahrain early 2011, meeting with King Hamad to affirm his confidence in the country’s leadership…………..”
Cute, the part about the prince and the ambassador of the ruling family of Bahrain (Sheikh Humoud bin Abdullah bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, etc, etc) “also touched upon latest developments around the world”. Maybe about Beyoncé 's new baby.
I can see from the photo above that they are deeply concerned about the world. Looks can be deceiving: the Ambassador al-Khalifa only looks stupid and prince al-Waleed only looks bored and apparently eager to look like a statesman.
It says here His Royal Highness (the Saudi al-Saud not the Bahraini al-Khalifa) visited Bahrain early in 2011: that would be last March right after the Saudi forces invaded to help the regime crush the people’s uprising. The prince was coming to see the new province acquired by the al-Saud family. They thought it was all over last March, but the uprising in Bahrain goes on, the fear is gone.
Just imagine what will happen when the fear also disappears from the Arabian Peninsula? It can and will happen: there was a time when the Arabs of the Peninsula were free and fearless. For thousands of years they were among the freest people on earth (okay nobody is perfect: they were also among the wildest, most fighting, and most thieving). Freedom always goes with fearlessness, and no doubt they will both return to the Arabian Peninsula.
Cheers
