Getting Ready for a Tea Party? Iranians Claim anti-Cruise Radar……..

“Iran is designing a new radar system which is able to counter cruise missiles, Brigadier General Behrooz Jahedi of the Khatam-ol-Anbiya military base said has said. The low-flying and long range aircraft as well as cruise missiles can be identified and targeted by the radar system, Jahedi told the Mehr News Agency. The new radar system with a range of 3000 kilometers can cover areas beyond the region, he noted. He went on to say that Iran has designed a GPS jammer that can redirect cruise missiles. The Air Force commander had previously said the Precision Approach Radar (PAR) system, which was designed and manufactured in the country, is ready to join Iran’s aerial fleet. PAR is a type of radar guidance system designed to provide lateral and vertical guidance to an aircraft pilot for landing, until the landing threshold is reached. After the aircraft reaches the decision height (DH) or decision altitude (DA), guidance is advisory only………”

Iranians have been announcing the production of missiles and drones and war planes and armored vehicles and all kinds of weapons (except nuclear) at a fast clip. It is as if they expect to be attacked any day now. Maybe they took seriously the urgings of the UAE (Abu Dhabi) potentates for the U.S. to launch an attack a couple of years ago (Wikileaks). Maybe they took seriously the demand of Saudi King Abdullah that Americans should attack Iran forthwith (and I mean now!). The old king called on America to cut the “head of the snake”, possibly meaning that Shi’as are like "a snake", a favorite name of fellow Salafi Jordanian terrorist leader in Iraq Abu Mus’ab al-Zarqawi. Most Arab Shi’as would object to being considered either part of a snake or some kind of appendage of Iran: they are not in spite of the propaganda by the despots of Bahrain and Riyadh.
What the mullahs, and Iranians in general, are apparently taking more seriously now is the prospect of another warlike right wing administration in Washington. A Tea Party administration will be only too glad to do the bidding of the Likud right-wing government and its more warlike allies in the Knesset. Not to mention all the well-paying lobbyists of local weapons manufacturers and foreign potentates. What they all want is apparently the same thing the Abu Dhabi shaikhs and potentates and the Saudi princes have wanted: a new war in our region, in my Gulf, to be fought by American boys and girls and cheered on by the Salafi soul-mates of al-Qaeda.
The mullahs are clearly worried about the next elections, even if they pretend they are not. That explains all the chest-thumping about all their new weapons. They are not worried about their own elections of 2013, they have that one in the bag (they already treat Ahmadinejad as the lamest of ducks). They are worried about the elections of 2012, for the same reason that some of our Gulf potentates are secretly doing a few extra prayers that the American party of war will win. This time they are not praying within earshot of some Wikileaks source.
