Expanded GCC? Picking Security over Economics, More on Black Magic......
Rattlesnake Ridge
A Bahraini newspaper that is close to the prime minister of the Bahrain regime (how credible can it be?) reports about the first steps of the Gulf GCC attempt to integrate Jordan and Morocco. Predictably it has to do with "security" issues. A source is quoted that the initial cooperation will be in the security and military fields. Jordan is already heavily involved in "security issues for several Gulf states like Bahrain and the UAE, among others. That means some of the mercenaries that torment the people of Bahrain hail from Jordan, as well as some of the more refined interrogators. Ditto for Abu Dhabi (although the Al Nahayan prefer Blackwater and Colombian and Australian mercenaries). Our Gulf people are insecure and dour enough without importing more humorless Jordanians to make things even grimmer. All this deal does is formalize the imports of thugs from the realm of King Abdul-Spock. Now I am not sure about the Moroccans, and wtf are they getting involved in "our" sordid deals.
A source is quoted that military and security meetings will b held, separately, between the three sides (GCC, Jordan, Morocco) to discuss such weighty issues. The world is holding its breath.
( I still doubt that Jordan and Morocco will actually join the GCC as full members, Nay, I KNOW that they won't join the GCC as full members. They will be offered different forms of partial membership, perhaps restricted to security and military matters. Oh, and maybe they will sign a treaty easing the import of Moroccan housemaids into Saudi Arabia. The latter is a truly pressing issue for the Saudi government and people: you can say it is a 'life and death' issue. They really want their maids, all the fears of husband-stealing and black magic be damned.)
