A War Imposed by Congress, the Last Two Christians in the U.S. Senate are Jewish……..

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced the action Wednesday, saying a "steady deterioration" of rights conditions in Iran prompted the U.S. to take actions that she said "correspond to our deep concern."……..”

More sanctions: we are seeing an almost frantic weekly parade of new sanctions on Iranian entities and persons. At this rate, the Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) commanders will soon run out of things like underwear, toothpaste, and TP (sorry, they have a different MO). Not to mention deodorants.

All this looks like a frantic attempt by the U.S administration to avoid being pushed into a new Middle East war, what may become “the mother of all Middle East wars”. This looks like a literal tug of war between the Obama administration and the red hot Congress, the former frantically swimming away from war, and the latter inching closer to a war. If an Iran war comes, it may be the first American war imposed by Congress on a reluctant president. The ~~Israel~~ U.S. Congress may have to change its name to the U.S. Knesset: both are now under the control (either numerical or political) of right wing war lovers. One difference is that almost all Knesset members have served in the military and know about war, mostly easy 'turkey shoots' of Palestinian Arabs- unless they were unfortunate enough to have ventured into Lebanon and the welcoming arms of Hezbollah. The American senators, especially the Red State war lovers have mostly assiduously avoided military service, although a few of their patriotic God-fearing names did turn up in hooker black books (Vitter) and one was caught soliciting gay sex in a public toilet (Craig is in Idaho), to mention only two examples of service.

When and if an Iran War comes, whether started by the Israeli Likud regime or by the Obama administration, I can name only two senators who will surely oppose it openly. Ironically, or maybe not, they will probably be Bernie Sanders and Russ Feingold; not necessarily known as the best two Christians in Washington. Come to think of it, those two probably are the best 'Christians' in the United States Senate.
