Lebanese J’Accuse: Beware of Getting Your Wish…….
Walking on water

“Democratic Gathering bloc l MP Walid Jumblatt said that it would have been better if the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL) had never existed, adding that the best way to achieve justice is to reveal the truth behind the false witnesses. "We got the tribunal, but I wish we did not," Jumblatt said during a ceremony to honor Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Sergei Poukine. “The aim of [UN Security Council] Resolution 1559 and the 2006 July War was to disarm the Resistance. When this failed, they resorted to [attempting to use] the STL’s indictment [to carry out this goal],” he said. “The best way to achieve justice in the [2005 assassination of former Prime Minister Rafik Hariri] is to reveal the truth behind the witnesses who gave false testimony to the international commission investigating into the murder,” Jumblatt added……..” al-Manar (Hezbollah)
Druze leader Jumblatt, formerly of the March 14 pro-Western movement, formerly beloved of the Neoconservatives, currently seeing things in a different light as he moves somewhat “leftward”, closer to his late father’s politics, sort of. Such are the uncertainties of Lebanese politics. He is saying that UN resolution (1559) was aimed at disarming Hezbollah, that the new focus on Hezbollah about the Hariri assassination has the same goal.
Cheers
