“The Leader of the Revolution Muammar Gaddafi has described pre-colonial Africa as a haven for kingdoms, tribal groups, supreme values, traditions, social links and of former celestial religions that colonialists tried to destroy during the dark era of colonialism. He also called for speeding up African unity and said the few African states that have been blocking the establishment of a unitary government would be exposed. In a speech on Wednesday evening in Tripoli at the second conference of the forum of kings, sultans, emirs, sheiks and African traditional leaders, the Leader said the forum would breathe life into the continent and project the presence of its traditional leaders………..”

He forgot to mention the griots, an important link across generations in Africa. The griots of Africa, with their stories and chanted poetry, were the roots of what later became “Rap” in the United States. The style was brought through the African slaves, in chains, across the Atlantic by the European paragons of Christianity and civilization.
Gaddafi has been dying to unify his country with someone, anyone, he tried with Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, Malta (I think), and several times with Africa. It never worked, nobody was eager to “merge” with him. I think if he can’t find anyone else to merge with him, he should seriously consider taking another wife. For merger purposes of course.
