Some Middle East Pigs are More Equal……..

“Israeli and US officials are extremely concerned by Friday’s report that Russia intends to sell advanced weapons to Syria, including anti-ship rockets that could pose a major threat to Israel Navy ships if transferred to Hizbullah. A defense source told The Jerusalem Post on Saturday night there was a danger that these weapons, which include P-800 Yakhont cruise missiles, could be used against Israel. According to the source, Defense Minister Ehud Barak spoke against the sale with Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin and Defense Minister Anatoly Serdyukov when he visited them in Moscow last week. Barak told them that the weapons could end up with Hizbullah, as has happened in the past……”

Extremely concerned indeed. What is there to worry about? This Russian-Syrian deal is like a drop in a bucket compared to the US deal with Saudi Arabia for advanced weapons, and to the inevitable sale of even more advanced weapons to Israel.
I wonder oif the Israelis and Syrians allow Gulf-size commissions from these deals to be bestowed on their potentates. I know Israelis have no such thing as ‘permanent’ potentates, not sure about the Syrians.
