Forked Tongue: what the Likud and Hamas Have in Common ………..

JERUSALEM —Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu flew to Washington on Tuesday, the first leader to arrive ahead of a summit Thursday to restart peace talks. Even as he sought to reassure the American and Palestinian negotiators that he was ready and willing to make the compromises necessary to reach a peace deal, however, members of his political party were in Washington to push a different agenda. Likud parliament member Danny Dayan, settler leader and member of the Yesha settler council in Israel, was meeting Jewish and congressional leaders in Washington to try to convince them of the importance of expanding Israel's settlements…… Much of Netanyahu's largely right wing-coalition supports Danon, however, and has made it clear that they aren't interests in the sort of complete freeze the Palestinians seek…..…

Hamas is also trying to make sure they fail. Four Israelis were killed in West Bank today and the media report that Hamas took responsibility. If true, Hamas is a little late: the Likud has a better plan to kill the negotiations and deny Obama a diplomatic victory.
