The MEMRI Kind of Arab Royal Media Elitist, He Ain’t No Oracle………………

“ Al-Arabiya Director: The Majority of Muslims Do Not Want or Need a Mosque Near Ground Zero. In an August 16, 2010 column in the London daily Al-Sharq Al-Awsat, 'Abd Al-Rahman Al-Rashed, Al-Arabiya TV director-general and the paper's former editor, criticized President Obama for supporting the construction of the Cordoba House mosque at Ground Zero in New York. He stated that it would be unwise to construct a mosque at that location, saying that no practicing Muslims live in the area, and that the mosque would become a focal point for both the supporters of terrorism and the champions of Islamophobia. Therefore, he argued, it would be preferable for Obama to throw his support behind issues that are of real concern for the Muslims, such as promoting Middle East peace…….”
He is not only a favorite Arab absolute monarchy opinionator of MEMRI, but also of former IDF and Mossad officers. I forgot: the last two are usually one and the same. As for the director of Alarabiya, and effectively Asharq Alawsat, s ince both are royally-owned, one directly and the other indirectly, he ain’t no oracle.
“Yigal Carmon is MEMRI’s President and founder. Mr. Carmon is frequently relied upon by leading media sources and government officials as an authority on current developments in the Arab and Muslim world. ……. Mr. Carmon was formerly chief counterterrorism advisor to Israeli Prime Ministers Yitzhak Rabin and Yitzhak Shamir, and was a senior delegate to the 1991 Madrid Peace Conference. He left government service nearly two decades ago. “
