A Marriage Fatwa by a Xenophobic Shaikh…………

“The Grand Mufti of Dubai has called for restrictions on Emiratis marrying outside their nationality. More than 30 per cent of Emirati marriages in Dubai this year were to foreigners, according to Dubai Statistics Centre, and the emirate has witnessed a 10-per-cent growth in mixed marriages over the past four years – something Dr Ahmed al Haddad described as a “negative trend”. “In Islam, choosing your life partner is a personal freedom,” he said, speaking at a Ramadan majlis on Sunday night. “But personal freedoms can be restricted for the benefit of the public interest.” Mixed marriages are more likely to end in divorce and their children are more likely to commit crimes, some experts at the majilis said.……….”

I don’t think this ~~schmuck~~ mufti has seen the divorce statistics from around the Gulf states, divorce among couples who are native citizens, not married to foreigners. He would be shocked.
Also, wtf makes all these guys “Grand”? I personally need some evidence, preferably with a halo around it, to buy this “Grandness”.
