Persian Gulf Hit Parade: Zayed and the Dream, Amahl and the Night Visitors, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Sergeant Pepper’s…….…

“Abu Dhabi – The historical musical play “Zayed and the Dream” will be staged this August in London. The two-night shows are scheduled for August 1 and 3 at London Coliseum. The play is produced by Abu Dhabi Authority for Culture and Heritage (ADACH). The London show is part of the international tour of the play which was ordered by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces…….. More than 100 artists and poets are taking part in this illuminating artistic vision inspired by the march of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, founder of UAE, and validated by the authenticity of the region's heritage and roots…..Mohammed Khalaf Al Mazrouei, Director General of ADACH said "we are proud to perform this work all over the world. We are gratified that it has been well received and that what Sheikh Zayed has given to his country and to his people, as well as to the Arab and Muslim nations and the rest of humanity, has been highly appreciated."……..”
I bet the UAE embassy bought a lot, and I mean “a lot” of the tickets. I also hope they have adequate representation in the show of the nearly 90% of the population of the country who are temporary expatriate workers. They are now part of the culture and heritage of the Emirates, in many ways they ARE the culture of the Emirates. The poetry “can” be good in these events, Arabic poetry usually is good, but it probably will not be in this case. Still, I can’t wait for its opening at the Paramount, or maybe will it be at Chateau Ste. Michelle (a great place for summer night events).
One more hit to join others: Zayed and the Dream, Amahl and the Night Visitor, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Sergeant Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band…….
Cheers
