An Alleged Incident in Manama, On Film………

“Bahraini interior Minister Rashid Bin Abdullah al-Khalifa that 11 Bahraini security men, who were among those involved in assaulting a Saudi citizen, be arrested and tried at a military court. This came after Alarabiya aired a video recording of the Saudi being attacked by security men while handcuffed. A Saudi daily reports that the security men stopped the Saudi man on the pretext of a traffic violations and that things got out of hand into a beating. A passerby, who happens to be a lawyer, recorded the incident on his blackberry and gave it to the Saudi embassy………”
Someone commented that very likely the security officers were not Bahrainis but of some other nationality among those who are recruited by the authorities as security men. All allegedly, of course. I am not sure about that, but it is possible. The point is that they do not like to hire native (Shi’a) Bahrainis because the elite do not trust them. Allegedly.
Oddly, and luckily, the clever individual who filmed the incident on his Blackberry did not trust the Bahrain security services, so he handed the video to the Saudi embassy. Which indicates the low level of trust and esteem for these organizations.
