The New Swinging Taliban go Simian, Peanuts and Bananas for the N Y Post………….
“The New York Post reports:
According to The People’s Daily in China, the Taliban in Afghanistan is “training monkeys to use weapons to attack American troops.” The newspaper’s bizarre story says the Islamic insurgents have drafted macaques and baboons to be all that they can be, arming them with AK-47 rifles, machine guns and trench mortars in the Waziristan tribal region near the border between Pakistan and Afghanistan. The monkeys, being rewarded with bananas and peanuts, are being turned into snipers at a secret Taliban training base. The newspaper says “photos have been widely spread by media agencies and Web sites across the world.”……….”
Which would mean that the United States would have to convert part of Guantanamo or part of Bagram, perhaps both, into a zoo well-stocked with such amenities as bananas and peanuts and leafy trees for swinging. This would be a good time for some Republicans to introduce a bill in the US Congress banning all monkeys from entering the country, all "new" monkeys. And to the New York Post, and maybe the People’s Daily, and the Taliban, someone should mention that “you pay peanuts, you get monkeys”.
Yet, it is intriguing: the "Western" idea of the 72……..
