Lieberman (NOT Joe) Suggests Land Redistribution…………
“Israel's foreign minister says a peace deal with the Palestinians should include handing areas where Israel's Arabs live over to Palestinian control. Avigdor Lieberman said a peace accord should be based on "population exchanges, not land for peace." The Palestinians claim the West Bank, Gaza Strip and east Jerusalem for a state, but they have indicated readiness to swap some land in the West Bank for territory in Israel. "It is clear that the 'triangle'," an area where many of Israel's minority Arabs live, "should be outside the borders of Israel, Lieberman told Israel Radio on Sunday…..…”
This may not be as bad as it seems, if the reporting is accurate. Or it can be much worse than it seems, given what Lieberman stands for. Some commentators are already calling it "ethnic cleansing". He is suggesting a small piece of Israel’s pre-1967 territory in exchange for “part” of the West Bank, (the part that does not have any Palestinians?). The devil, and Lieberman, will be in the detail. Besides, he would probably prefer to just expel Israeli Arabs to the West Bank as he has suggested before he became foreign minister and keep the land for his rapacious settlers.
I still believe that Lieberman will be indicted on various forms of financial and other crimes as recommended by Israeli police but, alas, he will most likely be indicted after he leaves office and does the damage. They always arrange it so that their crooked officials get indicted AFTER they leave office.
