From Tel Avis to Riyadh: a Convergence of Warmongers and Cheerleaders and Financiers……….

Benjamin Netanyahu:
“Diplomacy and sanctions won't stop Iran from building a nuclear warhead, according to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. "There has only been one time that Iran actually stopped the program," Netanyahu told Fox News' Chris Wallace Sunday. "That was when it feared US military action."……”

Netanyahu is, arguably, willing to start a war; the only deterrence is the high probability of failure. He knows from personal history that things can go wrong. He is clever enough to calculate the odds and alternatives before taking the plunge. He is probably the most clever leader in the whole Middle East, not a difficult task given the low bar on the other side.

Saudi Arabia:
Editor of Saudi daily Asharq Alawsat is opining on the Palestinian issue and the Iranian nuclear issue. He is suggesting that all previous diplomatic breakthroughs in the Middle East were preceded by major wars. He suggests that President Obama can trade with Israel: a Palestinian state for a war with Iran. What he suggests is get Israel to give up the West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem, and the Golan Heights in exchange for a US promise to “take care” of the Iranian problem…….”

They are willing, nay eager, for someone else to go to war on their behalf. They would never start a war on their own, nor would they participate in one against Iran, not directly.

UAE:
“UAE ambassador to Washington says that a war against Iran now is preferable to a nuclear Iran…. His statement is vaguely denide, not convincingly or wholeheartedly by the oligarchy… Saudi Asharq Alawsat, owned by Prince Salman, take sup the ‘cause’ and asks why not a war……”
A mouse that roared.

Talk of war in the Persian Gulf is suddenly escalating in the media. Cheerleaders of a new war seem heartened by the recent meeting between President Obama and Netanyahu: they think that an agreement over Palestine may mean a military plan for Iran and Hezbollah. They are also heartened by recent statements by Lieberman (the Connecticut Yankee Joe not the Israeli rightist Avigdor) and John McCain.
Cheers
