The New Très Chic Gaza Bandwagon: to the Shores of Tripoli……..
“One month after Israel's deadly attack on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla, a Libya-based charity group is sending another humanitarian convoy to the impoverished enclave to break the Israeli siege. The Tripoli-based Gaddafi International Charity and Development Association will send the aid ship to Gaza from Greece. The Moldova-flagged cargo ship Amalthea is set to leave Lavrio, around 60km (40 miles) south of Athens, on Friday, said the charity, headed by Saif Al-Islam Gaddafi, son of Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi……….”
About a month ago, the people of Gaza and their fundamentalist Hamas masters, could not buy international attention. In fact they could not buy any of the necessities of life. In fact they could not get any money to buy anything except maybe some from Iran and a few NGOs.
Suddenly, in the aftermath of the “freedom flotilla” and the foolish Israeli raid, it is très chic to support Gaza. After the success of the Turkish and European volunteers in forcing the issue, everybody is getting in on the act. Arab oligarchs and despots who either actively participated in the blockade or supported it otherwise are suddenly discovering the plight of Gaza. After three years. Now everybody wants to sail to Gaza: Iranians, Emiratis, Lebanese, and even Libyans.
About the Libyans: I hope Colonel Brother Leader Muammar al-Qadhafi joins this next flotilla. I also hope he brings along Kim Jong-Il.
There is only one good and clear word for h-y-p-o-c-r-i-s-y in Arabic, so far. But stay tuned.
