THAAD on the Persian Gulf, Zap and Ka-Pow and Kung Pao Chicken ……….

“A U.S. missile defense system offered to the Middle East has demonstrated interception capability at the low end of the atmosphere. On June 29, the Missile Defense Agency reported the successful intercept of the Terminal High Altitude Area Defense system. THAAD has been ordered by the United Arab Emirates and tested in Israel against missile threats from Iran. "This was the seventh successful intercept in seven attempts for the operationally-configured THAAD system," MDA said………..”
This is like the "kid in the candy store" syndrome.
I can’t remember the last time anyone attacked the United Arab Emirates, other than some skirmishes with Saudi Arabia over some border area long before my time (that issue is not resolved and flares up occasionally in non-violent forms). So, maybe this THAAD will not necessarily be aimed to the northeast. Still, I sure would like to know the name of the potentate who will get the fat commission from the sale of this plum.
Most nearby non-Arab countries have more people residing in the UAE than there are citizens of the UAE (including Iran, India, Pakistan, and possible Bangladesh). Sending missiles to, say, Um al-Qewain is tantamount to bombing their own citizens.
