Unfair Exchange: Shalit and the One Thousand Spartans…………….

“Israel has renewed its offer to release 1,000 Palestinian prisoners if Hamas militants free captured Israeli soldier Gilad Shalit. But PM Benjamin Netanyahu warned in a live TV address that Israel would not "pay any price" for the release of Sgt Shalit, captured four years ago. Talks to free Sgt Shalit broke down in 2009, after Israel and Hamas failed to agree on a list of prisoners. Hamas wants militants freed who Israel says have "blood on their hands"……” BBC News
Call it Gilad Shalit and the one thousand Gazans (definitely not Spartans).
Great deal for both, even without release of the militants Hamas wants. It is a good deal only on humanitarian grounds. One thousand Palestinians go back to their families in exchange for only one scrawny Israeli soldier going back to his family. The exchange favors the Palestinians, one thousand for one: but maybe not and that is the sad part for the Palestinians. It is always hundreds or thousands of Arab exchanged for one or a handful of Israelis. Does this mean the Israelis value their own higher than Arabs value “their” own? All the evidence points that way.
So, forget the Hamas operatives, just do the exchange.
