An Israeli Barbie that is Not Kosher, Kissing a Pig without Lipstick………….

“A female pig by the name of Barbie lies anaesthetised on a bed, a pulse monitor clipped to her snout as it pokes out from under a blanket. Staff in blue medical scrubs crowd around her, examining an image of the inside of her colon, shown on a computer screen above the bed. Unusually in the pig world, Barbie was raised by Jews. Researcher Sharon Goldfarb-Albak strokes the animal's head tenderly. "I love pigs! The Bible says don't eat pig, so I don't eat pig, but that doesn't mean I can't pet them and make them my friends," she says…….”
I was going to comment about pigs in Muslim countries, and their plight in Egypt where they were massacred last year by the armed forces, and the plight of swine in Saudi Arabia, where a four-legged foreign pig has no chance of ever getting an entry visa. I am not sure how pigs fair in Iran these days, given that the country has citizens who are also Christians and Jews and Zaroastrians (among others). But the lady has a point: it ain’t kosher to eat a pig, but where does it say that it ain’t kosher, or halal, to kiss a pig, even one without lipstick?
Cheers
