No Surprise, not at All, in Egypt: using an Autopsy Report to Hide the Truth……….

CAIRO: A new autopsy report into the death of Egyptian citizen Khaled Said once again supported police claims that the young man had choked to death while attempting to swallow a plastic bag full of drugs. Human rights groups and activists in Egypt are outraged over the report, which rebukes any claims of police violence. 28-year-old Said died on June 6 after a run in with a plainclothes police officer at an Alexandria Internet cafe. According to most human rights groups in the country, including the Nadim Center in Cairo, Said had posted a video showing police officers taking bribes. Eyewitnesses and rights organizations refute the government and police line on the incident, arguing instead that police beat the man to death outside the Internet cafe. Photos of the man, bloodied and lying on the pavement, appear to confirm that he did not die of asphyxiation. Alexandria residents have said the autopsy report should come as “no surprise” to those who know the country……
