Police were deployed late Thursday night in the Bahraini capital of Manama to save one of their colleagues after news spread that a group of unknown ‘Bahrainis ‘ had kidnapped him, after he reported on a brawl between them and a group of Indians. The “Pakistani” policeman’s brother had reported him kidnapped……. After intensive investigation and preparation they discovered their “Pakistani” colleague in prison after the anti-drug force arrested him on suspicions of informing……………

Damn, now I have no choice but to repeat my earlier comment posted here (yesterday):
Okay, it says the Bahrain policeman was a Pakistani, again: odd. He could have been Jordanian or Bengali or Syrian, or Saudi, some other nationality. We know from these stories that Bahrain recruits Pakistanis for its police force. It also recruits Jordanians and Bengalis and people from many other places. There is one type of people the government of Bahrain would not hire as policemen (or in the military): they are the majority of Bahrainis who are Shi’as (Shi’ites). Since this majority of the population is banned by the oligarchy from security jobs, the regime has to seek reliable foreigners, of the right religious sect. That partly explains the high unemployment among the majority Shi’a population of Bahrain, and it explains the continuing civil unrest on the island(s), and that explains the initial suspicion that the cop may have been kidnapped by irate Bahraini natives. Interesting.

I wonder if Joe Biden brought up this issue to the crown prince of Bahrain when the kid was in Washington this week.
(I promise I won’t repeat this comment again. Not this week, not unless…..).

Cheers
