Revenge of the Swine and Stray Dogs and Cats, Asses of Egypt Strike Back ………..
That was the bad news. The good news is that a state of near panic has spread in Alexandria after the heads of many donkeys and dogs have been found, but no bodies, near a sports stadium. This points to the strong possibility that some people are slaughtering dogs and donkeys and selling their flesh for consumption. This has happened before in Egypt.
Media report that the phenomenon of slaughtering donkeys and dogs and cats has spread in recent years in Egypt as meat prices rose. The speculation is that they are sold as genuine beef or mutton…….
I wonder how much the reckless massacre of all the country’ swine last year has contributed to this sharp rise in meat prices. I bet many Christian Copts had to switch to mutton and beef (and inadvertently dogs and donkeys). I knew that declared "war on pigs" was a stupid idea, but perhaps not by the standards of the Egyptian government.
Still, even with all these killings and eatings, Egypt has more than its fair share of pigs and asses, especially in the capital Cairo.
Now, I wonder where the Mubaraks get their meat from?
