Back to Iran War, On Israeli Flights Across the Gulf…………

Rarely before have Jews and Arabs been as united as they are in the face of the Iranian threat. But Israel's government is deliberately ignoring this historic opportunity to push the peace process forward. Indeed, Benjamin Netanyahu's government seems satisfied with the status quo……… Never before since the time of Israel's creation were Jews and Arabs as united as they are in the face of the Iranian threat. It goes so far that Saudi Arabia's foreign minister has even spoken openly to his US colleague Hillary Clinton of the potential necessity of a military strike against Iran. In its research, SPIEGEL has learned that Western intelligence agencies believe that the Saudis would even open up their air space to Israeli jets for an attack on Iran -- unlike the Americans, who would not allow them to fly over Iraq, with good reason……….”

They would love for the Americans to strike at Iran. Barring that, they would love for the Israelis to do it. Barring that they would be happy for Nabati Poets Society to take a crack at it.
Oddly, or maybe not so oddly, Salafi writers, soul mates of al-Qaeda and aspiring to establish Taliban states along the Persian-American Gulf, are all for it even as they pretend to abhor a role of American boys and (especially) girls in any of their battles that they never fight. During the periods of the ebbing sentiment for war, they sob in despair all over their newspapers and websites. Complaining that there is a secret deal between the Americans (whom they call kaffir Nasranis), the Israelis (whom they call the accursed Jews), and the Persians (whom some of them call the conniving Magis) to divvy up the region.
Overall, the Der Spiegel scenario is the most sensible one for a possible but ultimately futile strike. But it will not happen yet; there are no Israeli elections coming anytime soon.
Cheers
