“The English are following a policy of divide and rule, and they have historically created problems in Bahrain. Chair of the Foreign Affairs, Defense, and national Security in the Assembly rejects all form of interference by foreign countries in the internal affairs of Bahrain….. This after the British Ambassador met with a group from the al-Wifaq bloc………” Alwatan (Bahrain)

Al-Wifaq is the major Shi’a opposition group that has recently called for a previously agreed on “constitutional monarchy” to be actually instituted.
About the “English” meddling: the British were probably the only thing stood between the Shah of Iran and Bahrain becoming an Iranian province before 1971. Rewriting history, and fiddling with maps, is an avid hobby of our oligarchs and their "scholars" in this oily era of petroleum.
