Iraqi Candidates, Arab Kings, Iranian Mullahs…………..

“Allawi discusses Iraqi elections with Saudi King. Saudi media refuses to report on details of the talks between king and Allawi who leads a joint Shi’a-Sunni coalition in the elections……” M E Online
Interesting: an Iraqi candidate discusses the Iraqi elections with the Saudi king. But then there are also reports that other Iraqi candidates discuss Iraqi elections with Iranian leaders.
The king probably asked him if he is truly a Shi’a, and Allawi probably had to reassure the king that no he is not, not really. Then the king probably asked him if h truly believes all this democracy stuff, and Allawi, the second best favorite candidate of the Arab oligarchies, probably had to reassure him on that one as well. The king may have asked him if he was, then, a secularist, and Allawi had to hurriedly express an emphatic no (you wouldn't want to get tried and flogged or something on a visit).
Iraq is almost like Lebanon all over again: one side has the superiority in petro-money, the other side has the superiority in numbers.
