American political correctness has infected Aljazeera as well. Like the dominant American media, Aljazeera is hesitant to call the Tea Baggers what they really are, at least most of them. Some of them are confused and can’t tell a recession from a hole in the ground, many of them are birthers, some are plain RACISTS, and some are innocent knownothingers who have been snared. A few glib political types are in there as well, trying to take advantage.
Basically they are the extreme right wing of the Republican Party, pretending to be independents.
