Dubai: a Fortuitous Discovery? A Teaser to the Wolves of the World?..........
“His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai on Thursday announced the new oil discovery in Dubai stressing that the discovery will attribute and provide in strengthening the economic capacities of the state along with increasing UAE’s oil production. In addition to other positive impacts that will give a strong impetus to all sectors of the local economy and provide a new source of income enhancing the comprehensive development of Dubai. This came during the meeting held between Shaikh Mohammed today with other officials and a group of dignitaries that took place just before the Cabinet meeting. He announced the good news congratulating UAE citizens with this important discovery. He also stated that this field is located east of “Rashid” field. His Highness assigned the task of the exploration and prospecting of the discovered field to Shaikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Oil Affairs Department in Dubai……….”
