Ministry of Marriage, Regression Analysis of Love in Arabia………....
“Proposed regulations allowing ministers, judges, foreign ministry staff, consultative council members, police, the military, scholarship students and those who work for organizations that are headed by the king or crown prince, to marry non-Saudis…... Revised Article One allows marriage of Saudis of the positions mentioned above with non-Saudis subject to approval of the Palace…… Article Two allows the marriage of Saudis to non-Saudis who are citizens of the GCC, provided the Saudi partner is not among those mentioned in Article One…………”
Sounds like a nightmare. Too many “Articles”. They should just have a ministry (department) of marriage that decides who can marry what, based on some statistical forecast of the expected happiness of each couple, given the degree of confidence, of course. Basically a regression alalysis. Presided over by some shaggy shaikh, preferably an experienced someone with three or four marriages under his “belt”. Rather than bother the royal court with all the details.
