Steel Wall of Gaza, What would Reagan Say about “this Wall”…………….

“A Gaza-bound aid convoy in Jordan led by British MP George Galloway will not be allowed into Egypt through the Red Sea port of Nuweiba -- the most direct route -- Egypt's foreign ministry spokesman said. There will be "no entry from Nuweiba. Entry can only be through El-Arish," on the Mediterranean coast, Hossam Zaki said. Around 250 trucks laden with European, Turkish and Arab aid -- both food and medical supplies-- arrived in Jordan from Syria on Wednesday and were headed to the Red Sea port of Aqaba for the ferry journey across to the Egyptian Sinai port of Nuweiba. Entering through El-Arish port would mean going around the Sinai Peninsula and through the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean. Egypt's Rafah crossing with Gaza is the only access point into the Palestinian territory. British MP George Galloway, who is leading the convoy, had issued a statement urging Egypt to facilitate the convoy's passage. In March, Galloway handed over thousands of dollars and dozens of vehicles to the Gaza after arriving in an aid convoy. Egypt, under the pressure of Zionist regime and US, has severely banned travel to and from the Gaza Strip since Hamas resistance movement won the election and got control of Gaza in June 2007……. Meanwhile Arab Human Rights Organization (in London) has announced that several foreign intelligence agencies are supervising the building of the steel wall between Egypt and Gaza………” Alalam TV (Iran)
The part about Galloway and the convoy is covered in other media as well. I have not seen the part about “foreign intelligence services” in any other media, so I’d take it with a big grain of salt, although that may be true if they want the wall to actually work.
Egypt had initially denied building the steel wall, then admitted it. Jeffrey Feltman, once dear to the heart of Hezbollah while in Lebanon, now US Assistant secretary of state, announced last week that Egypt was building the wall of its own volition, which naturally made everybody in the Middle East immediately realize that Egypt came under pressure from Tel Aviv and Washington to build the wall. It was stupid of the Egyptian government to initially deny the wall. Now Mr. Obama will have to make a speech exhorting “Mr. Mubarak, Tear down that wall, Mr. Mubarak………”
PA figurehead Mahmoud Abbas, ever worried about the money taps from Washington and Riyadh, has volunteered to declare the obvious: that Egypt has the legal right to build the wall.
Regardless of what we read in the media of the Arab oligarchies, like Asharq Alawsat and Alarabiya, most Arabs, and probably all Israelis, believe that Egypt is building the steel wall under foreign pressure.
Cheers and Happy Holidays
