US Congress Censoring the Whole World, or Just the Middle East?.............

“At the same time that American and Israeli media is allowed freedoms of expression, speech, and belief, the US House of Representatives has approved, by a sweeping majority, a draft bill that ties the freedom of expression of Arab media if Washington and Israel deem these channels to be airing material opposed to American-Israeli interests in the region…….” M E Online
Arab media has been in an uproar over this. Some of the Arab media: the Saudi media is mostly silent about it, which means strong approval. No doubt in my mind that some Arab regimes welcome such a step. They normally like censorship, any kind of censorship. They think they like this one too; they assume any restrictions on freedom of expression will be imposed on the allies of Iran. Hezbollah TV is already banned in the US by the Bush administration, although it never calls for violence against US citizens. Besides it can be watched on the internet, for now. I think the Bushies banned Hezbollah at a time when they thought they could make ALL of Lebanon into a Saudi satrapy, not just the Hariri portion of it.
