Arab Thought Foundation, A Status Quo Foundation: Part II…….
“Goals:
Promoting the pride taken in the nation core values cultural schemes. Entrenching thoughts and events acting to reject all causes of discrimination , and achieving the nation’s solidarity, mainstreaming its efforts towards the Higher Arab Interest ( I almost dozed off here).…….. Attending to all sorts of cognitive sciences, with focus on future studies and on harnessing the modern technologies. Honoring the pioneers, supporting the innovators and sponsoring the talented…… Promoting communications with Arab immigrant brains and Institutions and drawing upon their experiences……. Drawing up cultural and media related projects that contribute in disseminating the Arab intellect on the international scene, and correct the erroneous perceptions held towards the Arab society….......…”
The part about “disseminating the Arab intellect on international scene” has me worried. Do we really want to do that? Shouldn’t there be a law against it?
Nothing about promoting democracy, free speech, equality, honesty and responsibility, transparency, etc. The things that really matter because they push a society to advance. The part about “pride in core values” smells like status quo, as in “the oligarch is dead, long live the oligarch”. What else could one with as discriminating a taste as yours truly expect given the composition of the board of trustees?……
