Ahmadinejad ‘Denies’ It, Iranian Television Often Affirms It, What is It?.....

“The Polish police say the Nazis' infamous iron sign declaring "Arbeit Macht Frei," which in German means "Work Sets You Free" has been stolen from the entrance of the former Auschwitz death camp. Police were called at 5 a.m. local time (0400 GMT) by museum guards, who said the infamous sign had been stolen. The heavy iron sign "was removed by being unscrewed on one side and pulled off on the other," Agnieszka Szczygiel, a police spokeswoman, said. "It is also believed that this was a planned event and that several people were involved as the sign was at remarkable height." Police have started an investigation into the theft, which has sparked outrage among the Jewish communities. The chairman of Yad Vashem, Israel Holocaust Museum, called the theft shocking. Polish President Lech Kaczynski said the act “deserves the strongest condemnation.” In Brussels, European Parliament President Jerzy Buzek asked the thieves to return the sign. "Give it back out of respect for the suffering of over a million victims, murdered in this Nazi camp, the biggest cemetery of humankind," Buzek said. An exact replica of the sign, produced when the original received restoration work years ago, was quickly hung in its place.........” Press TV
Ahmadinejad must not control this Iranian television network. He is also probably the last man left in Tehran who denies the holocaust. He ‘sort of’ tries to deny it in public although I doubt that he believes it privately. He is sending a political message and he obviously enjoys irritating the West, including its media.
Other Iranian television networks have in the past three years shown films, Iranian films, about the holocaust. Odd, or maybe not so odd in the hard-to-define, culturally and politically heterogeneous Iran of today.
Cheers and Happy Holidays
