A Saudi Arabian Katrina, A Prince and the Paupers………..

“With a fortune estimated at £8 billion and his own Airbus A380 on order, Prince Alwaleed bin Talal is the richest man in Saudi Arabia. This may help to explain why he put his Italian castle back on the market only five months after buying it, apparently without having spent a single night there. Perhaps the castle, which was once Carla Bruni-Sarkozy’s family home, was simply not luxurious enough, despite its 40 rooms and 170 acres of rolling countryside in the Turin hills. Back home in the Gulf, the American-educated prince — described by Time magazine as the “Arabian Warren Buffett” — lives in a £180m palace with 317 rooms, 250 television sets, gold-plated taps, a lagoon-shaped pool and a 45-seat cinema. The double-decker Airbus, due for delivery next year, will be the world’s largest private jet, and a suitably over-the-top addition to a fleet that already includes a converted Boeing 747. The Castello di Castagneto Po, now priced at €19.5m (£17.8m), dominates the valley of the River Po. The agents handling the sale, Christie’s Great Estates and ImmobilSarda, call it “an estate of timeless enchantment... one of the most unique dwellings in Europe”…………..”
“Meanwhile a Saudi human rights lawyer, Walid Abu al-Kheir, said he will sue the city of Jeddah, with backing from the victim's families, for mismanagement of city works construction by the Jeddah government as a key cause for the flooding."They didn't make the drainage work. They have told us for three years or more that it has been completed," he said. "Even people from the city government said there were mistakes." More than 11,000 people joined a Facebook page created three days ago to complain about the floods, saying the city government and contractors were at fault for not building adequate infrastructure…….”
Why not fly many of the victims who have lost homes to the Prince’s empty castle in Italy? Why not fly them on the private planes of His Most royal Highness? Better yet, why not fly them to all the many empty palaces and castles owned by all the many royals across Western Europe and the United States, and around the Mediterranean, and on their many private planes? Let the people under whose soil the petroleum flows and enriches the potentates see the hidden joys of it all.
Cheers
