Kissing the Mubaraks', Shameful “Piece” of Journalism………

This “piece” was written by an Egyptian columnist and published in the Saudi daily al-Watan:
The defeat, the soccer defeat, has succeeded in bringing Egypt together as nothing has in the past years. Strange camaraderie, and noble sadness (my translation) and feeling that all feel the same way. If Egypt’s dignity is harmed. Gamal (Jamal) Mubarak, has become a popular star loved by all, and he is not just talked about as a possible successor to his father. Ala’a Mubarak has entered every Egyptian heart and conscience…….. This is the genius of Egypt during victory and also during defeat………

When it comes to Arab oligarchs, it is usually “asinus asinum fricat” as the Romans are reputed to have said. This man is an example of the depths to which most Arab newspapers have sunk in this age of Arab non-Aquarius. He could have done without kissing the derriere of Mubarak and his tow rapacious sons.
The Saudi media, of course, are well-trained in that type of activity when it comes to their own oligarchs and their sons. They would not think it unusual.
Cheers
