Tale of Two Gulf Cities: Feast, Famine, Homelessness, and Manchester City on the Persian Gulf……..

Do Gulf citizens live in the street? There is a bitter truth, especially in Saudi Arabia, which leads citizens of one o the richest countries to live without a roof above their heads. Do we have, in our rich Gulf countries, citizens who own no homes and cannot afford to rent an apartment? Property prices have gone so high, while the governments have given out free public lands to the rich and powerful. But what about the lower classes in the Gulf? Recently we have seen media reports of families of citizens living in cars near public parks or on the Courniche (seaside drive), because they cannot afford to rent…..There are many who are poor in our countries, but they are embarrassed and do not want to bear the stigma of need, so they remain silent........

Sheikh Mansour completes Man City buyout.“UAE billionaire has gained control of English football club after buying 10 percent stake from Shinawatra. The biggest financial scandal in the Gulf started in Saudi Arabia about four months ago, after doubts were raised about the ability of al-Gosaibi Group and their rivals the al-Saad to repay their debts to local and international banks. Total debts reached about US$ 20-22 billion. Then a legal battle raged between the tow troubled groups and the al-Gosaibi Group has accused the owner of al-Saad Group, M’am al-Saad, of embezzling US$ 10 billion......”
