Israel and the Kurds, What Genocide has Wrought, What Silence has Wrought…….

An opinion poll
in Iraqi Kurdistan indicates strong pro-Israeli feelings, completely different from the results of Arab countries like Egypt and Jordan. The survey done by 'Point Research' in Erbil shows that an overwhelming majority of Kurds support establishing strong ties to Israel…..The results show that 87.5% believe ties between Kurds and Israel are deep and historic, and 61.4% indicated they would call on the regional government to start establishing ties with Israel…..68% believe that Kurds will benefit greatly from such relations.....

During the 1980s, when the Iraqi ruling elite under Saddam where committing genocide and policies of mass relocation against the Kurds, the Arabs were silent. At best of they were silent, and that goes for leaders, newspapers, intellectuals, academics…you name it. That was the best of them; the worst of them publicly aided and abetted the crimes, including some newspapers in certain Persian Gulf states that only turned against Saddam in August 1990.
Is it any wonder the Kurds trust Israelis and do not trust Arabs?
Cheers
