Yemen War Fog, Unhappy Arabia Felix, Who is on Top……..

Yemen's Shia fighters capture 2 Sa'dah cities: Houthi resistance fighters say they have taken control of two key areas in the northern province of Sa'dah, after pushing back government forces....... Press TV (Iran)

Sources report that five divisions, along with air support and artillery, have entered in support of the Republican Guards, the Giants (not New York Giants) and infantry…Military sources report fierce battles in Harf Sifyan, with tens of casualties among the Houthi rebels, and that the army controls several areas and have cleared more areas from the rebels....... Alarabiya (Saudi)

It looks like a stalemate in the northern rebellious region of Yemen.
Iranian media supports the Houthis, Saudi media supports the government of President Saleh (in power for about like 30 years, give or take 2 years).

Saleh has been heavily using the Shi’a card (Houthis are a Shi’a Zaidi group) in order to get more support from the oligarchies of the Gulf GCC states. That in itself is a sure sign that this new-old war is not going well for his regime in Sa’dah province.
The Houthis and the Iranians have claimed in the past that Saudi forces, especially air forces, were helping the Yemenis, a possible sign that the Houthis were worried about the military situation at the time. So, the stalemate continues.

The rule of thumb in Yemen, and the Middle East, is like this: whoever claims loudest of foreign intervention is usually not doing well on the ground.....
