In Praise of Bush and Hariri, Now to the Next War…....

What he did was considered the biggest insult to President Bush. It is considered an evening of scores by many Arabs and Muslims who hate the historic and controversial American president, but Bush should feel proud in his achievement of overthrowing the strongest dictatorial rule the Arabs have seen in the modern era, and that of Saddam Hussein.....
See? W still has some supporters among the potentates of the Persian Gulf and their retainers. New York, San Francisco, and Seattle had their chance and blew it.....

A Hariri phenomenon. There are no politics in Lebanon; there are only sect leaders (warlords?) who are mere temporary phenomena….they have been succeeded by their sons and grandsons, for hundreds of years. Sa’ad al-Hariri has the opportunity to move away from such phenomenon in order to introduce himself to all Arabs and the whole world as a symbol of a new, different, Lebanese generation, and as a leader with a legitimate political program for social justice.....

Forgive me: I had thought all along that Sa’ad Hariri inherited the political movement of his dead father, as well as his billions, and his many friends-benefactors. I have also thought, a thought somehow encouraged by Jumblatt’s recent statements, that Hariri also inherited a tendency to fan the flames of sectarianism for his political purposes. I had thought that was one factor in his getting a majority in the current parliament. I have also thought that he had inherited Saudi political backing as well as their unlimited money for his political campaigns. In the latter he is sort of even with Hezbullah which gets a lot of Iranian money and other assets.
As for the talk about his being for 'social justice', I think need a sick bag now.....
Cheers and Ramadan Kareem
