Punch and Counterpunch on the Gulf

Human Rights Watch
has accused Saudi authorities of violating human rights by arresting thousands of individuals and keeping them under detention for years without trial. The organization reported that the Mabahith Dept of the Ministry of Interior are holding more than 9 thousand people using the excuse of fighting terrorism, without charging them with any crime. It said many of the detained are opposition members and advocates of reform….

Sources in the Iranian Parliament report of a coup led by president Ahmadinejad in the Ministry of Intelligence, with the goal of eliminating opposition supporters and appointing people loyal to himself. The sources said Nejad is violating the parliamentary rules which requires that the minister be knowledgeable in religious jurisprudence….They asked Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani to bring Ahmadinejad to account……..
So who is telling the truth? Could it be both?
Cheers
