Iranian Humor: A Clinton, Forty Goats, Twenty Cows

“U S Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was exposed to funny incident yesterday. A small Kenyan businessman asked her for the hand of her daughter Chelsea to be his second wife. He offered in exchange to pay a dowry of 40 goats and 20 cows. He made the offer during Hillary’s visit to Kenya, swaying that he has not changed his mind in nine years. The Kenyan had made the same offer to Bill Clinton nine years ago (for Chelsea not Bill). He was hoping to add her as a second wife….....
"He said that his wife does not mind, since she did not object when she found out about his offer. Mrs. Clinton said that she can’t make decisions for Chelsea because she is independent…….” Alalam (Official Iranian Network).
“Dr. Alice Eisen(?), professor of psychology at the University of Maryland says that having fun, laughing through watching cartoons, reading comics, listening to jokes, or seeing funny films is not only good psychologically, but is good for the human body…..
“For example she says that those who watch cartoon films beforehand go to negotiation meetings more relaxed and capable...........” Alalam (Official Iranian Network).
All that is on the Arabic version of the network website. On the Persian version of the network, they are less humorous, cover a few serious issues, with a large photo of Ahmadinejad and other semi-official photos. I couldn’t get into the English version of the website.
Clearly, they want their foreign readers to have more fun, and more healthy minds and bodies, than their Iranian readers.
Cheers
