Master Mubarak and Miss Obama: Polls and Pols



“Gamal Mubarak and al-Sherif present the results of an opinion survey. Popularity of the government on the rise: 71% favorable opinion about government performance. 21% unfavorable…....”

Great- President Mubarak’s son and very likely his chosen heir (a la Dear Pudgy Leader) manages a survey and announces its results. Sort of like having Malia Obama managing and announcing poll results about her father’sperformance.
But they are getting savvy, they didn't use to record 21% disapproval. Even under interrogation you couldn't get 21% disapproval.
But the popularity of the government improves even as the middle class of Egypt dwindles and the lower classes are tied with ironclad bonds to the regime’s subsidies.
