Of Hamas, Mass Weddings, Smuggled Viagra, and a Cairo Windfall. Ahmdinejad, Again

Iranian Soap: The saga of Ahmadinejad and his favorite appointee I. Meshai continues. He has finally been removed as vice president, his appointment annulled. Now he has been appointed Chief of Staff for the president and his chief adviser. An Iranian Rahm Emanuel, if you will. But he doesn’t look as fierce as Emanuel, and I bet he doesn’t use the ‘F’ word either, not even in Persian.

Oh, the outrage! Meanwhile, Arab oligarchies’ media are still upset over irregularities in Iran’s last election. This is one point I agree with the oligarchies on- the Iran elections. But their logic is different from mine.
Their logic goes like this: Okay, we never have any real elections, many of us have no elections at all, even unreal- but we firmly believe that if a country has elections, they should be beyond any reproach. That is why they protest the repression in Tehran.

The Palestinian Hamas organized a mass wedding of one thousand grooms: that’s what the report said, but I assume there were also 1,000 brides, unless there were some guys who took more than one. (No, Polyandry is not an issue). The mass wedding was held at a Palestinian refugee camp near Damascus. The goal was to help reduce the prohibitive costs of weddings and “to encourage procreation so that a new generation will replace those who were martyred”……….”
That last part sounds dwonright ominous. Doesn't sound very promising.
Correction: there were only 500 weddings of tow (heterosexuals) each. No polygamy, no polyandry.

Egypt confiscates more than 18,000 Viagra packets in northern Sinai: the police intercepted the pills while on their way to the Gaza strip, controlled by Hamas. The cops discovered 24 large boxes of Viagra….Egypt has closed the Rafah exit in an apparent coordinated effort with Israel, the West, and some Arab states to bring pressure and force the Islamic fundamentalist Hamas into compromise with the PA in Ramallah and eventually with Israel. Palestinian authorities claim that many people have died for lack of medicine……
Maybe they were destined to that camp outside Damascus, eventually. I wonder if whatshisface in Cairo got some of the loot; he looks like he could use some- actually he looks like it is too late. So if the can catch Viagra, why can't they catch huge weapons shipments to Gaza, including missiles? Were the smugglers this time too cheap, i.e ungenerous?
Anyway, the Egyptian security did better this time than they did against the pigs. But not as good as they do against their own people.
Cheers
