Another Ugly Hate Crime in Germany

In Dresden Germany, a right wing nut stabbed an Egyptian female pharmacist to death in a court room. She was stabbed 18 times. He presumably did it because she was wearing a Hijab that covers her hair. He had earlier threatened her during a previous court session. When her husband went over to help her, a policeman shot him, the husband, and wounded him.

This kind of incident might explain why many in the Middle East, especially in Saudi Arabia where the burqa is prevalent, were enraged when French president Sarkozy publicly criticized the Burqa which covers the face, saying it did not belong in France.
I do not like the Burqa any more than he does, especially in Paris, but such public statements tend to encourage extremists, and there are many of these in Europe, both Old and New. especially in these hard economic times. It tends to encourage hate crimes like the one in Dresden when publicized by idiotic heads of state like Sarko who should not meddle in such ‘small’ matters. He should concentrate on larger matters of state and on Carla Bruni.
