Ahamadinjad is Back! He Promises Too Little, But Is It Too Late? On Iran, Israel, 'Night', and War

“Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said today that among his priorities in his second term to have an effective international presence and to build Iran…..He promised to make fundamental changes in his new government…He said he will assign portfolios based on qualification…And he rejected what he called ‘police and extremist’ atmosphere in dealing with social and cultural issues….He promised big changes that emphasize economics and employment…..” Alalam Iranian news.
Clearly he got ‘some’ message from all the protests after the election. He seems to promise to ease social and cultural restrictions; a clear concession to the young who from a majority of Iranians. What he promises is certainly too little, but whether it is too late depends on the people of Iran. On va voir.
Also: what do you suppose he means about having an ‘effective international presence’? Perhaps he will rediscover the Holocaust. Maybe he has read Wiesel’s ‘Night’.
“Saudi Shia’s complain of a siege against them and their mosques. Saudi authorities continue closure of Shi’a mosques in the Eastern province and chasing their Imams and supporters…..” al-Rasid.
So what else is new?
“……Nobody can be certain in such issues. But two things must be pointed out. The first is that America cannot let Israel be defeated in a way that would be considered also a defeat for her (America) and her allies, including Arabs, with the impact that an Iranian victory would have. The other thing is that ‘the’ military strike against Iran cannot be carried out during the month of Ramadan. It has to be carried out before Ramadan, or not be carried at all. Or maybe it can be postponed until next autumn....” Elaph.
He sounds forlorn, almost disappointed and fearful that the war he and the potentates who employ him want may not come. Almost wistful that the bombs and missiles will not rain on Tehran, Tel Aviv, South Beirut, and the Gulf. He nearly lost me somewhere in his long babbling piece. If anyone can tell me exactly what this writer is trying to say, please email me. I want to know if I should buy Iranian stocks, Israeli stocks, or Halliburton stock.
Cheers
