Jordanian Founding Fathers: One Goat One Vote
“Jordanian Minister for Political Development: current election law of one man, one woman, (one goat?) one vote, is again at the top of the agenda of the ministry…” ElaphFirst time I hear of a Ministry for Political Development in Amman, or anywhere south of Pyongyang and east of Phnom Penh (ca.1975). Which proves my earliest suspicion that Jordan is going beyond Soviet, it is going Pyongyang. Soon the king will be fondly referred to as Il Duce (mino, of course), as almost all Arab potentates should b referred to (minor, of course). They too can’t keep the trains on time, wherever there are trains- can't get the garbage collected on time, wherever there is garbage. But they make sure the midnight goons are on time, which can be construed in some quarters as some achievement.
A ministry for political development. The founding fathers of Jordan’s upcoming oligarchy are a huge bureaucracy.
