The Battle for Kirkuk, Wonderland in Arabia

Kirkuk, Kirkuk:
Masoud Barzani, President of the Kurdistan Region, still in Iraq, has said that sectarian fighting is becoming deeply rooted in Iraq, and that the Kurds will not get involved. Then he said that the dream of an independent Kurdish state is a legitimate right, and that it will be realized.
Meanwhile, Turkish leaders have repeated their perennial threats and concenrs about Kirkuk becoming part of Kurdistan. They have hinted at intervention in that area, which is somewhat more than the US or Iran or the Arab states are willing to threaten publicly. Kirkuk is slated to vote this year on whether to join Kurdistan, which it most likely will- they will vote for it, wouldn't you? Then attention will shift from Baghdad to that city, especially if the ongoing U.S surge succeeds in reducing the carnage in the capital. All the murderous fuzzywuzzies will head north, to kill fellow Sunnis who happen to be Kurd
s.

Alice in an Arabian Wonderland:
The official Saudi News Agency reports that Saudi King Abdullah has issued a decree replacing his old cabinet, with......itself! All the outgoing ministers have remained in the NEW cabinet, in their exact same portfolios. This is less interesting than a game of musical chairs but it is slightly more significant than Britney shedding her tresses. Spring cleaning is always a good thing.
Cheers
